简介: illustration permeates all areas of design, be it industrial design, interior design, or product design, but nowhere is its impact and influence felt more directly than in the world of fashion design. hot fashion illustration commands attention and influences shoppers choices by allowing products to stand out boldly, and communicate directly, the feeling, vibe, and mission of a fashion brand. fashion wonderland studies the crucial role of illustration in fashion, and shows what a powerful tool it can be by sharing extraordinary examples from print, installation, interior decorating and from straight off the runway by established names in the fashion empire, and from emerging talents from around the globe. from preliminary concept sketches, to t-shirt graphics, eye-catching magazine ads, and patterns on textiles, to the essence of illustrative style generally, fashion wonderland contains hundreds of captivating examples of fresh illustration. the luminous work demonstrated in the book is an inspirational tool as much as a visual feast for anyone involved in the fashion or illustration world. a fantastic list of contributors includes 2 bit creative, alexandra compain-tissier, amelie hegardt (traffic), angel d amico design and illustration, anja kroencke (traffic), atomic attack, berto martinez (unit cma), c86 carole agaÃsse, catalina estrada, cecilia carlstedt, chesley mclaren, chris ede (illustration ltd), christina k, christophe remy, coco, commando group, deanne cheuk design, elisabeth arkhipoff, ena (digmeout), geraldine georges, gi myao, hanazuki, handiedan, humili, ippei gyoubu, izak zenou (traffic), james jean, julia rothman, kicki fjell/ammo agency, klaus haapaniemi, laura quick, linn olosdotter, meannorth, mediawork, moa lindqvist bartling/ammo agency, montana forbes (illustration ltd), neil duerden (unit cma), ob27, ohgushi (artliason), penelope rolland (traffic), philip smiley (illustration ltd), ppaint (unit cma), qian, qian, ryu itadani, sarah beetson (illustration ltd), scott chambers (synergy art), shantell martin, skwak, sophie robert (agent 002), sophie toulouse, , studio sans nom, sugar clothes, sunday vision, takeshi hamada, tatiana arocha, toby neilan, tokidoki, tom bagshaw (cia), tomi & cherry, vault49 llc, wendy plovmand (cia/f&j), yuko kondo and more!

简介:
“This is the shocking, profoundly moving and morally challenging story... It will haunt you, it will help to complete you… nothing short of miraculous.” -Augusten Burroughs “Just when you thought you might have read about every horror of the Holocaust, a book will come along and shine a fierce light upon yet another haunting wrong. SARAH'S KEY is such a novel. In remarkably unsparing, unsentimental prose... through a lens so personal and intimate, it will make you cry--and remember.” -Jenna Blum, author of Those Who Save Us “Masterly and compelling, it is not something that readers will quickly forget. Highly recommended.”-Library Journal, Starred Review “A powerful novel… Tatiana de Rosnay has captured the insane world of the Holocaust and the efforts of the few good people who stood up against it in this work of fiction more effectively than has been done in many scholarly studies. It is a book that makes us sensitive to how much evil occurred and also to how much willingness to do good also existed in that world.” --Rabbi Jack Riemer, South Florida Jewish Journal “A remarkable novel written with eloquence and empathy.” -Paula Fox, author of Borrowed Finery "A story of hearts broken, first by the past, then by family secrets, and the truth that begins to repair the pieces. A beautiful novel." -Linda Francis Lee, bestselling author of The Ex-Debutante “SARAH’S KEY unlocks the star crossed, heart thumping story of an American journalist in Paris and the 60-year-old secret that could destroy her marriage. This book will stay on your mind long after it's back on the shelf.” –Risa Miller, author of Welcome to Heavenly Heights “This is a remarkable historical novel... it's a book that impresses itself upon one's heart and soul forever.” –Naomi Ragen, author of The Saturday Wife.

Drawing together established and emerging authors in the field, this volume offers a broad, interdisciplinary, international exploration of geographies of sexualities. The overarching theme is the spatialities of sexualities. Central to the book is a consideration of the emergence of distinctly spatial queer theories within geography over the past fifteen years and these are examined in relation to broader political currents, theoretical interventions and sexualised practices. The past decade or so has witnessed a proliferation and diversification of writings on sexualities, space and place. However, since the publication of 'Mapping Desire' in 1995, and with the exception of some very thought-provoking collections of specific themes within geographies of sexualities, there has not been a text that explores the theoretical, empirical and political developments across the breadth of this subject.Drawing together established and emerging authors in the field, this volume offers a broad, interdisciplinary, international exploration of geographies of sexualities. 简介:This book presents an exploration of the reinvented utopia that provided second-wave feminists of the 1970s with a conceptual space to articulate the politics of change. Tatiana Teslenko argues that utopian fiction of this decade offered a means of validating the personal as well as the political, and of criticizing a patriarchal social order. Teslenko reveals feminists' attempt through fiction to envision a new political order.

Fashion market:interviews with 16 London artists
作者: designers from the fashion market
SIMON BASHER.BASHER WORLD www.basherworld.com SEAN LEE AND WENDY YONG.HORACE AND THE SAILING ZEBRA www.horaceandthesailingzebra.com CARA O'SULLIVAN, ANNE LARSSON AND MAUD LARSSON.GTT(GONE TO TEXAS) www.lazyoaf.com Marc Coey-Archer and Linda Colley.TWOBYONE www.twobyone.co.uk MELODIE AND DAN HOLLIDAY.DEATHRACE2000 www.deathrace.co.uk JOANNA AND ROS SHIERS.SHIERS SISTERS shierssisters@yahoo.co.uk
A daughter’s homage to the extraordinary lives of two fascinating, irrepressible people who were larger than life emblems of a bygone age. Tatiana du Plessix, Russian wife of a French diplomat, and Alexander Liberman, a gifted magazine editor and aspiring artist, lived as part of the artistic Russian e migre? community in Paris in the 1930s. The two began a passionate affair and fled to New York with Tatiana’s young daughter, Francine. There they rose to the top of high society, holding court to the midcentury’s intellectuals and entertainers, friends like Marlene Dietrich, Salvador Dali?, and the publishing tycoon Conde? Nast. Tatiana became an icon of New York fashion, and the hats she designed for Saks Fifth Avenue were de rigueur for stylish women everywhere. Liberman eventually came to preside over the Conde? Nast empire. The glamorous life they shared was both creative and destructive and was marked by an exceptional bond forged out of their highly charged love and raging self-centeredness.--From publisher description.
