Chemists Brown (emeritus Beloit College) and Poon (Claremont College) present an introductory textbook outlining the logic of organic chemistry and the connectivity of ideas within it, as well as connections between organic chemistry and the world around the students. Only two dates are cited for previous editions, 2000 and 2005. New to this edition are how-to boxes, cumulative review questions, problem-solving strategies, quick quizzes, applications to biochemistry and health, more practice problems, organic synthesis, new reactions and reaction mechanisms, greater attention to visual learning, links between chapter-end problems and examples in the text, marginal key questions, and molecular models.
