简介

Nouragues is a tropical forest station in French Guiana, established in 1986 for research on natural mechanisms of forest regeneration. Forty-three specialists contribute 27 chapters reflecting the scientific research programs implemented at Nouragues since 1986. Coverage includes the physical environment, the plant environment, vertebrate communities and evolutionary ecology, fruit-vertebrates relationships and their function in forest regeneration, and forest dynamics and recruitment. The appendices include plant and vertebrate species lists, and an identification key to palms. Illustrated with black-and-white photos, graphs, charts, tables, and drawings. Annotation c.
