简介
Surveys current knowledge of biological transmembrane molecular transport systems, and the investigational approaches used to study them. The 16 contributions characterize transporter families, describe genetic approaches to understanding transmembrane transporters, and examine functional aspects of transporter biology. Topics include yeast as a model system for studying glucose transport, peptide mapping of dopamine transporter ligand and substrate interaction sites, mass spectroscopy of membrane transport proteins, and voltage clamp and fluorometric techniques for studying glutamate transporter function.
