将语言看做一个与概念行为相互交织的认知过程，找出方法加以讨论，似乎是认知语言学共同关注的问题。在这方面，兰盖克的著作具有十分重要的意义。《认知语法基础》一书呈现出的复杂的理论创新，以及详细的分析步骤和新发现在这篇简短的评论中，尚不能——赏析，有待读者细细品味。
