简介
此教材系《新概念英语》（NCE）作者L.G.Alexander编写的另一套英语教材，专供非英语国家中、小学生学习英语使用。全书共有学生用书四册，学生练习册四册，以及供教师教学参考用的教师用书四册。
此套教材语言地道、浅近、实用、有趣，图文并茂，编排体例新颖。学生用书每册有60单元，含120课；即采用两课为一个单元的形式，其中单课为课文，双课为句型课，以保证新的语言材料在实践中反复操练，结合实际，灵活运用，达到牢固掌握的目的。全书旨在培养学生使用英语的能力，学生读完四册课本，不但学到了规范的语言，而且了解了英语国家的风土人情。
四册课本共有词汇2000个左右，句型250多个。
本书系第二册，词汇量为300个左右，适合初中二年级学生使用。本册课本与第一册在编排上大同小异，除极少数几课出现叙述体之外，仍保留了第一册以对话体为主的特点。本册课文后配有儿歌，歌词浅显，朗朗上口，对帮助巩固课堂教学内容，活跃课堂气氛起了一定的作用。
