简介
Whitaker (physician assistant program, Idaho State University) covers the latest material in respiratory care for newborns and children. The book begins with a study of the cardiopulmonary system during fetal development, then discusses the respiratory care of neonatal and pediatric patients, as well as causes and care of respiratory illnesses. New ventilators and monitors are discussed. And, special procedures and non-conventional ventilatory techniques are described. These include liquid ventilation, surfactant replacement therapy, and high frequency ventilation. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
