简介
本书是以国务院学位委员会关于MPA／MBA专业学位培养目标和基本要求为主要依据而编写的。本教材充分考虑了MPA／MBA研究生的知识结构、能力结构及英语实际水平和学习特点，突出语言实用性，强调语言运用能力的培养，同时注重语言基本技能的训练和巩固。
全书包括10个学习单元和2个复习单元。每个学习单元由课文部分和练习部分组成。课文部分包括导入问题、课文、文化背景注释或作者介绍以及词汇表；练习部分包括课文理解、词汇、改错、英汉互译、写作和快速阅读。每5个学习单元后有一个复习单元，以测试形式对学生所学的语言知识有侧重地加以复习，以达到巩固和提高的目的。
本教材还适用于工程类硕士研究生以及各类研究生课程进修班学员。
