简介
《综合英语教程》第三版是“国家精品课程”(2005)项目的主要研究成果之一。此次修订a课题组的老师在全国十几所高校的协助下，开展了大量的课堂实践研究。在现代外语教学的理念指引下，课题组在题材选择、内容编排、教学设计、练习方法、教学指导等方面进行了全面的修改，改动幅度较之第二版显著增大。多年来持之以恒的研究和课堂实践使得第三版在课堂教学设计等诸方面都达到了一个新的高度。
教师在使用第三版时需要注意如下事项。
1．第一部分(part 1)为“交际活动”(communicative activities)，新的教学设计更加注重课堂的操作性，教师要重视互动过程，努力在学生语言产出的基础上提供有效的反馈。在反馈纠错中要注意策略，采用多种手段让学习者意识到他们语言产出中的错误。
2．第二部分(part 2)为“阅读和语言活动”(reading and language activities)，这一部分的课文替换将近一半。课堂教学设计强调开放性，有利于学习者发展英语使用能力，教师要尽量引导学习者开展有意义的产出活动，在活动结束以后给以反馈和指导。
3．教学指导简化了步骤，提高了教学效率。
4．本教程取消了词汇表，鼓励学习者使用英语词典，或者网络词典。
5．课堂教学中要尽量把语言产出的机会留给学生，教师的主要作用是组织活动，有针对性地给学生提供讲解，这种讲解最好在小组活动或者对子活动的过程中提供，要最大限度地提高学生一学生和教师一学生之间的互动关系。
6．在文学作品的学习中，鼓励学生放开思想，在文学思想的讨论过程中，避免提供“标准答案”的做法，以免扼杀学生的创造性。
