简介
《中国环境下的英语教学》内容共分十章。第一章引言，指出区分ESl和EFl的必要性，简单描述当今我国英语教学的特点，并介绍《中国环境下的英语教学》的写作意图及结构。第二章回顾外语教学法主要流派及其对我国英语教学的影响。第三章讨论英语作为外语的教学指导方针。第四章从造成听力理解困难的原因入手讨论听力教学的原则和方法。第五章讨论交际能力及培养准确、流利、得体地讲英语的口语教学活动。第六章强调阅读不仅是一项语言技能同时又是语言学习的手段，用较大篇幅探讨阅读教学的目的、阅读材料的选择和阅读教学活动的设计。第七章指出写有助于巩固所学内容并且最能够提高语言准确性，在写作教学中要做到结果法和过程法的平衡。第八章强调语法教学应包括形式、意义和运用三个方面，语法的呈现既可用归纳法又可用演绎法，采用何种方法取决于学习者因素、语法结构及教师因素。句子分析是帮助中国学生理解句子结构的有效教学技巧。第九章讨论词汇教学，强调词汇呈现及练习应在语境中进行，肯定翻译在呈现词义中的作用。第十章讨论目前英语教与学中的几个问题：教师的灵活性、合作学习及死记硬背问题，强调教学中没有适合所有人的最佳方法，我们所要做的是找到最适合自己的路子。
