简介
本书是以高职高专学生为对象，以《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》有关读、译、写部分的主要要求为依据，以高职高专学生在大学阶段学习了两个学期大学英语、具备一定的语言基础之后，早日接触实用英语，充分利用英语语言这个工具以适应日益开放的市场的需求为目的而编写的。本书分教程和模拟测试两本，力求使学生掌握大量英语知识和技能，具有一定的听说读写译的能力，借助词典阅读和翻译有关英语业务资料，在涉外交际活动和业务活动中进行简单的口语和书面交流，并为今后进一步提高英语交际能力、通过国家应用能力测试和专转本的考试打下坚实的基础。本书由12个单元组成，内容包括评论、论说、文学作品等，涉及科学、文化、教育、体育、卫生、经济、社会等方面，以提高学生实际应用语言的能力。
