简介
The culmination of decades of research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this reference contains data on about 6,800 chemicals that are known to be present in 1,500 medicinally useful plants or animals, and which are thought to be responsible for the medical effect of the species or its extracts. It also provides descriptions of the chemistry of the major active components and the mode of action of the medicines, thus making possible a synthesis of Chinese and Western medicinal chemistry and providing strong rationales for new drug development. Four indexes list traditional Chinese medicines by Chinese and English names, origin, and chemicals. Compiled by X. Yan, J. Zhou and G.
