简介
Although Isabel Allende’s third novel has drawn mixed response in English, praise for its translator has been virtually unanimous. One could quibble about an infelicitous choice of words here or there, or about occasional instances of careless punctuation or syntax, but as Dan Bellm observed, Margaret Sayers Peden seems to have gotten Allende’s "elegant, mischievous tone just right."
