作者简介:
保罗·克鲁格曼,1953年出生,美国麻省理工学院经济学教授,世界著名经济学家。1977年获麻省理工学院博士学位后,在耶鲁大学、斯坦福大学和麻省理工学院任教。1982—1983年间,曾在美国白宫经济顾问委员会任职,这一经历对其以后的研究工作产生了很大的影响。1991年荣获美国经济协会为40岁以下杰出经济学家设立的两年一度的克拉克奖。
克鲁格曼被《幸福》杂志称为继凯恩斯之后文笔最好的经济学家。他目前编著的书已超过16本,并撰写了数百篇论文,其专业著作的内容主要涉及国际贸易及国际金融领域。在国际贸易领域,他发明了“新贸易理论”这一名词,揭示了国际贸易中收益递减和不完全竞争及其后果。90年代以来,克鲁格曼越来越多地尝试通过抽象描述和通俗文章与非经济学家进行交流。这方面的文章主要发表在《幸福》杂志的“没有免费的午餐”和《评论》杂志的“沉闷的科学”专栏中。
