《李岚清教育访谈录》是一部讲述中国跨世纪十年教育改革和发展历程的重要著作，其中文版本已经由人民教育出版社在2003年12月出版。该书中文版出版以来，受到广大读者，尤其是教育工作者的热烈欢迎，产生了广泛的影响。为了让更多的国际友人和关心中国教育改革和发展的人士了解中国教育改革发展的历程及所取得的成就，经教育部决定，并征得李岚清同志的同意，由外语教学与研究出版社和英国培生教育出版集团联合出版该书的英文版。由外研社负责《为了13亿人的教育（英文版）》国内市场的出版发行，培生集团负责国外市场的出版发行。外研社是我国最大的外语出版机构，也是目前全国规模最大的大学出版社，而培生教育出版集团是国际上最大的教育出版集团，双方的联合有助于在全世界做好《为了13亿人的教育（英文版）》的发行工作。
