简介
Martin and Rose (both linguistics, U. of Sydney) introduce the genre theory underpinning the literacy programs of what has come to be known as the Sydney School. They worked on the initiative to address literacy needs of primary school students and Indigenous communities respectively. Bypassing questions of practice here, they focus on how they have theorized genre as part of a functional model of language and attendant modalities of communication. The 2005 edition was presumably cloth bound. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Company. Annotation 漏2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
