简介
Alors que Prague vit en 1968 des moments enivrants de libération, Tomas, jeune chirurgien, poursuit en dehors de son travail, une vie de conquêtes faciles jusqu'au jour où une provinciale, Tereza, s'installe chez lui. Surviennent les tanks russes pour mettre fin au régime jugé trop permissif. Tomas et Tereza quittent le pays pour se réfugier en Suisse où les a précédés une amie, Sabina. Quand Tereza constate que Tomas est toujours aussi volage, elle en conçoit une grande peine et rentre en Tchécoslovaquie.
