This volume consists of selected papers in international economics and development written over the past 25 years by Carlos Diaz-Alejandro. Topics include trade policies for development, foreign investment and multinational corporations, North-South relations, and less developed country perspectives on stabilization policies and the international monetary system. Several of the essays analyze the international events leading to the so-called "debt-crisis", and the macroeconomics policies of debtor countries during that period. The focus is on the interaction between changing world markets and LDC stabilization and liberalization experiments leading to the present situation.
