In these proceedings of the November 2002 conference of the same name, contributors explore the contributions of the "later Derrida" to the studies of theology, biblical studies, and the philosophy of religion. Their efforts include an introduction to Derrida's unique thought on issues of religion by Sherwood (Old Testament/Tanakh and Judaism, U. of Glasgow) and Hart (English, U. of Notre Dame), an extensive interview with Derrida, and 23 papers. Topics of those papers include the discourses of exile, hosting, Derrida's reading of Massignon, interpretations of Yom Kippur, Christianity and anti- Judaism, reading without logocentrism, sacrifices and secrets in de Vries and Scisson, Revelation, sexual difference and the sacral, sexual irregularities in the translation of God (The Word) in Jesus, and a series of five papers on "Reading a Page of Scripture with a Little Help from Derrida."
