简介
Item generation departs from traditional test construction by replacing an unending sequence of empirical questions with mental models. Researchers and practitioners from the Educational Testing Service, various boards of medical and aerospace testing, and universities met in Princeton, New Jersey during November 1998 to share their findings and thoughts about the approach. Their 14 papers and commentary of them discuss the psychometric and cognitive theory of item generation, construct-oriented approaches, moving from theory to implementation, and applications of item-generative principles.
